Monday Mobilizer: Tennis Titans

Serena took home the ladies singles championship at Wimbledon on July 9th, the day following Venus Williams winning the doubles at Wimbledon. Though these two are titans of tennis, and the challenges in their lives help to give a better idea as to why. The Williams’ were raised in Compton, California and began training in tennis at the age of three. They recently faced continued hard times when their father, Richard Williams, suffered a stroke right before Wimbledon. Through it all, they remain focused on their goals and determined to be their best. It’s this determination and focus that inspires the rest of us to not only set goals but get up and pursue them with the utmost persistence.
